There is so much high controversy surrounding Dr Rowan Williams the past weeks over his sensational claims that aspects of Sharia law should be inter-grated with British law, upon inspection of a tabloid newspaper: The Sun on Monday 11Th Feb 2008 i saw a very good point made. This was pointing out that Christan beliefs would contradict Sharia religious beliefs within this certain country, and that Sharia law allowed the deaths of people in certain situations whereas Christian law i.e. God forbids this. Its quite a bizarre story to hit the headlines in these current months but one that shouldn’t be taken with a 2nd glance, its a hot subject with the political wars still in full force within Iraq and Afghanistan. Many people believe its ridiculous and that the thought of incorporating this within Britain was a recipe for disaster, this notion was backed up by Lord George Carey the previous Archbishop of Canterbury. He feared that it would be a direct challenge to British values, this blunder has caused the biggest crisis for the Anglian Church in recent years.
But should he be forced to quit?
Many say he should including church leaders and Tory MP Mark Pritchard, however even though clearly against his remarks standing by his side was Lord Carey who says he shouldn’t be sacked for his mishap over this comment. In my personal opinion i think its shameful that it was even thought up let alone spoken about by someone who is one of the top and first for most iconic signs of British religiousness in the country!!! It is just contradicting why he is doing the job in the first place. British law should stay the same, if immigrants wish to come here then fine, they are welcome to a particular % but they need to follow our rules and regulations…. we have to if we go to (sorry for this statement) but another person’s fridge. (sorry heard it on a film on Sunday and really wanted to use it LOL).
What is you opinion on this matter??

This is such a horrible thing for him to have said!
Ontario, Canada, had briefly flirted with implementing exactly what Dr. Williams suggested (in 2006)…and rejected it so soundly, it actually passed a law making any such thing illegal. Why? Because under Sharia, a woman is represented by a male relative, especially when it comes to family law (marriage, divorce, custity) and property law (she is not allowed to have any – her male guadrdian ownd her property) – and here is the kicker – she is NOT allowed to opt out of Sharia IF it is available. Thus, a woman would not even be allowed to speak for herself in court! She might even be forbidden from attending.
There is a clause in Sharia, however, that where there Sharia law is not implemented, Muslims MUST obey local secular laws – thus emancipating Muslim women. That is why the ‘Ontarion effort’ was opposed by Muslim women worldwide, including public demonstrations and letter-writing campaigns.
It is not that long ago that Christian clerics urged men to ‘beat their wives to help them atone for Eve’s sin’, and when midwives were killed for easing the pain of childbirth, which was ‘God’s punishment to ‘all womenkind for the original sin’.
That such a prominent personage in Christendom would promote implementation of a law that would strip British women (who happen to be Muslim) of their status as a full human being should encourage people to examine if this man is also promoting hatred of women in other aspects of British life…
So sad…
