The coroner’s court hearing in to the death of Diana Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed has reached a staggering £7m, latest figures have shown.
The huge figure is set to increase even more as the bill for lawyers representing the police and MI6 have not yet been shown to the public. Furthermore the original investigation into the August 1997 Paris crash lead by the Metropolitan Police cost £4m
Diana, her companion Dodi Al Fayed and driver Henri Paul died after a car crash in a Paris tunnel on August 31, 1997. Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker has dismissed the jury until March 31, when they will return to hear his summary of evidence.

It is getting out of hand. She was unique however, and it is a very tragic story.
I too wrote a snippet and if you have no objection here is my link.

This has dragged on long enough with the case, there has been one already which showed that the government had nothing to do with the deaths of either Diana or Dodi however Mr Al Fayed is persistent in showing that secruity services had something to do do with the deaths. I think that to trail through all the photos of the deaths again is just horrific for Princes William and Harry, who have to watch their mothers reputation be tarnished.
I think however, that the business with the Butler Paul Burrel is riduclous!! How he can stand in court and lie then brag about it to people in America is just beyond me, i thought that British Law stated that him lying is against the law? So why has he not been brought by to answer the Cornoner in this matter… its most probably because he is scared that he will go to prison for the lies he told at the court in front of the world, and this is shown as he wont even come out of his home in America since the Sun newspaper did a story on his crime.
In conclusion i think that the £7m which is the amount the case is costing atm is outrageous, i understand millions of people including Mr Al Fayed would like to know once and for all what happened on that tragic day; but i think that £7m could be better spent on more important things…
I can’t imagine Paul having many friends in UK There is a technicality to prove he was a lying toad.
It might be that he has some info on important people which means he will be left alone to vanish from public gaze.
See to me that is just proving how bad British courts really are, how they let people flip threw the net of law which is said to be one of the best in the world? Doesnt really sound it, if he has information on public figures than as a journalist and as a public person in society we have the right to know what is going on in our country, the freedom of information act etc. One thing i dont understand is if he does hold valuable info then it can aslo be asked by the court not to be disclosed, could it be that the information he is not telling is crucial evidence to sway the outcome to the verdict?
