MURDERED MOTHER FOUND BY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER
A 15 year old school girl found her mother dead on the kitchen floor at their home, after a brutal attack a court heard today.
Stephen Lay, 48, from Tadley in Basingstoke is on trail at Winchester Crown Court for the murder of his ex-wife and mother of his daughter Carol Reeves.
Ms Reeves was discovered after her daughter returned from her boyfriend’s house on 26th May 2007, she gave evidence via satelitte to the court about the events leading up to her finding her mother.
Mr Lay denies murder as his trail continues.

Another good one. I like the way you just go for the jugular every time, and just the obvious summary approach and the way you keep it simple and dramatic. You can just hear this being read out on the radio over some background news music loop. You are very modest about it, but you have really got the hang of this.
Of course for a newspaper it would be a bit different because you would need a quotes. This is the advantage of the papers over radio and even TV.
Still, if you could churn out three or four of these a day you make a living doing. Other students can learn a lot from this. You have completely liberated yourself from ’school teacher English’ and just tell stories in a simple direct way. Dr Kenyon’s blog is stronger at the moment on ideas, “Martin Luther” King’s blog is the most argumentative and noisy; but this is the best one for just simple straight news reporting style.
Have you thought of contactiung a local news reporting agency in Southampton. Maybe you could do some shifts for the them. Court reporting Agency work is the express route to the national press – it is what Angus did for example (I think).
